Kira Dane is a Japanese American filmmaker and animator from New York City, currently based in Japan. Having been shaped and informed by clashing cultural heritages, she gravitates towards gray areas. As a storyteller, she’s most interested in exploring stories that promote healing and listening, while digging for unexpected nuance. Kira specializes in incorporating animation and experimental form in documentary film.
